Everyone has their preference, I'm a white male who prefers Asian women and I'm not really into white women a whole lot so does that make me racist? I don't think so since I get along with everyone just fine and respect people of all backgrounds if they are a good hearted person.
This brings up great points. Myself, I like to identify that I'm no more racist than I am sexist. There will always be some level of preconceived ideas but I acknowledge them & move on. I grew up in the 50's, 60's & 70's. I hated the racism that I saw as well as the sexism. Being way too much of a coward, I could never admit even to myself that I was attracted to males as well as females. My first two sex partners were black women. I was way too shy to ever admit that I find men and especially black men attractive. I regret that I never stood up to be counted in support of race, gender and sexual preference rights.
I do not engage in racial or sexist put downs. I do not freely allow them to be directed towards me or my partners. This has caused me to lose people I thought were friends. I obviously chose bad friends. They are gone from my life and I say good ridence.
I've never been comfortable with some of the terminology prevalent in IR relationships. I don't have sex with a bull or a BBC- I have sex with a man who happens to be black. And yes, the fact that he's black turns me on unlike anything else ever has. Does the fact that I'm turned on because he's black make me a racist? I don't think so but I'm willing to admit that on some level of my subconscious that I might believe it's wrong for a white woman to be with a black man. I've read the links you posted and they are filled with great information. But the issue I have is this- while you can show me that the term bull is meant to designate a powerful, masculine being, revered by many- a man among men..... many of the people on this site and other sites don't know any of that. So, if attraction is a natural thing - which it is - then it just comes down to the moral ethics you have, in references to being attracted to someone. If you are attracted to Asian women, thats fine, but if you only like Asian woman because you see them all as submissive, because that's how you see them culturally, than that's where this is a problem. However, most white people do see the world as they're oyster, and subconsciously and overtly subjugate other ethnicities to them sexually. Have you ever considered that what you call being "picky" might be inspired by a tinge of racism? I'm not saying that it 100% is, but I have seen from some white women that it can be. For example, some white women classify black men by what they see in television, and in music, and confuse those images and traits with what black people are.
