Exactly, it was Lincoln who was a Republican and it was the Republican Party that pushed the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments.
It was the current president who said any Haitians that landed on the shores of the US would be returned to Haiti, therefore they are now getting to Mexico and crossing the border that way. So if you come by water you will be sent back if by land you won't. Only a democrat can come up with that.
