My wife brought up getting an IUD. Are these safe and about how much would it cost?

My wife just had her 2nd one inserted.. they last about 5 years or so. Check with your health insurance co re: cost, etc. I think they are close to $1000.

This is relatively new, isn't it? I heard about this in a meeting back a year or so ago. Its not an IUD, its an implant, and they say it lasts for up to 3 years. Where they get you is when you have to replace it or get it removed ... very expensive, I hear. Plus, a lot of medical conditions stop a woman from getting the implant ... you're obviously very healthy ... LOL
