The Republicans, like @blkdlaur, use fear and anger, and that ******* works. Virginia went up in flames because the Republicans ran against the extreme or non existent Left.
Critical Race Theory (always 'race' with these guys) is NOT being taught in any public school in America, it's not even a fully developed concept (looking at history from the view of the oppressed or the affects of some decisions on minorities - you know, History), however, by saying it's a theory that whites are bad and ******* like that, people freaked. Saying that it was going to be taught in grade schools and there was nothing parents can do about it - it was a false narrative, that didn't matter if there was no response to it. It is real to many.
Couple that with ******* being home for a year, and the debacle in trying to teach them, then all the ******* with them returning to school, it made it seem like Democrats didn't respect parents input. The fucking party that 100% supports these public schools and their funding is now against the parents?
So McAuliffe got crushed by white women without college educations and led to the 2 point loss today.
