I heard from several friends that their content was removed from websites like Pornhub ,
Xhamster, Xvideos , Fetlife and even some private yahoo groups . Rough content but not extreme"

Last couple of weeks i've also noticed myself that allot of rougher interracial videos can't be found anymore
and two of the couples I known, and contacted, confirmed that Pornhub took those down.

In the past I also posted a few of our own videos (with my ex) on Fetlife that could be considered a bit rougher then your average video (bdsm/domination) and it was never taken down, until we had to do it ourself. (but that's a other story)

I'm very much into the interracial bdsm lifestyle and naturaly those are also the videos I like watching the most.
Those kind of amateur videos never been easy to find but it seems like there is allot of censorship going on lately and it's nearly impossible now.

The WWW is not a lawless space. Perhaps it was back in those days when it was new and national laws had to be first established to deal with potential harmful behavior. Porn sites are adult sites that are mostly accessible internationally. The site owners need to keep up with a multitude of laws of many different countries in order to be able to provide their services in the future and not becoming pressured into taking them down by the international community of countries/states. AFAiK BDSM and "rough" content is not a problem. But creating titles that would assume *******, *******, sex with an "*******" person, or using demeaning slurs for groups of people (the n-word, for instance) is! Presenting BDSM practices as a conscious lifestyle choice made by consenting adults is quite a different thing than posting a scene that comes with a title like "******* wife ****** into sex with strangers at party and brutally abused" - just to give a handy example. Many times when content is taken down there is a good reason behind that. just sayin'. Also violating copyright would be one.

i hope this isn't the PC police afraid someone will be offended, in some way. i can understand a video of an, actual, ******* being taken down, or one of a minor, also.

i would think the 1st amendment would be in play here. If video subject matter is unlawful in a certain counrty, it can be blocked in that country. it does not need to be blocked in all countries where it is not illegal. video content, merely, being obnoxious should be for the individual to determine to watch or not.

That would be exchanging one type of censorship with another. Most of the times content is taken down is not by law enforcement. It is a site owner that provides services under their terms and conditions made aware to a site user. If terms are violated the owner has the right to react. It is private censorship.
Blocking particular content in a country would mean public censorship where officials in a country take control of internet traffic, filtering out part of it ("National Firewall"). The implementation of that, the decision of what content is to be blocked, what content is allowable, what institution has the right to decide such things, what are the checks and balances, ... is very problematic, especially in modern democratic societies.
Of course, technically speaking, it could also be implemented on the provider side where a site owner refuses to send particular content based on remote IP addresses depending on the country. But that would demand major reprogramming of that site plus a management system that handles blocking rules and continuous reviews - all rather expensive tasks.

In this case we are talking about videos that don't violate any specific site rules and they took it down.

The service provider / website has the rights to decide what they will take down,
but it's just very noticable that allot of content has been taken down lately that should be perfectly fine to be viewed by people.

We are not talking about any extreme content!
The videos that they took down just had some consensual rough sex with a bit of hairpulling
and bdsm play. A bit harder then your average porn but no forsing or any kind of that stuff.

For me this kind of censorship is a big NO .
Just because they reserve the rights to take something down doesn't mean they should actualy do it unless
it clearly violates the rules.

@dickhurtz...You hit on an interesting point by suggesting that the overly sensitive population may be eroding our freedoms. Think about this for a second. The sensitive PC folks occupy the liberal democratic side of the floor(for the most part) yet we have looked to our liberal leaders and institutions (ie. ACLU) as being the guardians of our rights and freedoms. But as liberalism is quickly turning to socialism, we may soon see the ideological error of our ways. Democrat politicians need black people to be down and needy and angry. I don't understand how our people don't see this. Right now, we are bench warmers on the wrong team. You gain absolutely nothing from the left, and you leave for your babies. And damn it, I like my porn with an edge cuz sometimes momma likes to see a little white girl getting slapped around.

I removed the fetlife content of my ex as she requested it at some point.
