Gang leader, Duke, claiming the kidnapped Debby to now be "his woman," under the premise that "Chiefs and Leaders get the Spoils of War" which he believes is imminent against "The Honkies."

REVIEW PART 1:
Dubbed by Quinten Terrantino as "The Greatest Porno of all Time," the movie "Hot Summer in the City" (1976) presents a gritty, disturbing, yet fascinating story involving the kidnapping of a white woman by Black militants trying to start a Race War to galvanize the cause of Black Liberation and Succession from the United States. The story is set (and was filmed) near Detroit, Michigan in July 1967, shortly before the famous Race Riot of 1967 in Detroit, which felt like a Race war for those involved. The riots went on for several days and many blacks and whites were killed fighting each other along racially drawn battle lines. Gail Palmer is credited as being the Director of the movie, and has been historically accredited as being the first female Director of an X-rated film.

The protagonist of the story is Debby (played by Playboy Playmate Lisa Baker), a young woman who in the opening scene is being driven home by Bill (played by Bruce Darcy), her college age fiancé, from an engagement party thrown by her fiancé's dad. Debby is the prototypical "good girl" and rebukes Bill for trying to slide his hand up her skirt as they kissed good night. She says anything like that wouldn't be right until they were married.

After she kisses Bill goodbye, she enters her house and hears sounds which at first lead her to believe that her mom is being attacked. She begins to call the cops but then hears her mom scream "Fuck me." Shocked, especially since her ******* has recently died, she peeks into her mom's bedroom, and to her horror, sees her mom having a threesome with two men, one of which is her fiancé's dad!

Debby is beyond upset and runs out of the house to let off steam and go be alone to cry, unaware of how vulnerable she was making herself look to any passersby who might look at her and find himself having bad intentions. She becomes aware only after a Cadillac full of Black men pull up next to her and repeatedly ask her to get in their car on the promise that they will pay her for sex. Frightened, Debby runs away, but two gang members chase her down and carry her off into their vehicle.

Thrown into the back seat of the car, She is held down by a gang member named "Shorty," while the Gang's leader, "Duke," forcibly takes Debby's virginity. Two other gang members are in the front seat, the driver named "Coke" and a short, special needs appearing young man named Stitch. Debby is driven to a nearby cabin out in the woods, which she later learns is essentially the gang's hideout for their planning to help start a race war.

There she is made to cook, clean and wait on the men while they play cards. Eventually Duke, asserting his authority in the gang, claims Debby to be "his woman" and prohibits the other men from touching her without his permission. The gang grudgingly accepts this, but take their leader up on his offer to try and win her for the night in a game of poker. Ultimately, Duke loses to Shorty, who roughly spanks Debby and then allows Coke to also use her body, and a helpless Debby is stripped and bent over on a nearby bed and used from both ends.

The next day, Duke wakes Debby and hands her panties back to her and otherwise treats Debby with kindness, and seems disturbed by what had transpired the night before. Later that day she meets a mysterious Mafia looking guy called "The Man," who is helping the gang with the Race war planning. Duke has Debby sit next to him at the table as they go over plans, and invites Debby to "change sides in the Race War." Duke's kindness towards Debby greatly upsets Duke's girlfriend named Jody (played by the intimidatingly beautiful, Black Orchid), who came to the cabin with the Man, and becomes our heroine's real antagonist in the story.

Debby looking away from Jody, the gang leader's girlfriend whose giving her an intimidating stare to show that she is none to pleased with her presence.

PART 2:

Tensions build after the Man leaves, as Jodi wants Duke to retire to the bedroom with her, but Duke informs her he is going to go sleep with "the "honky bitch" instead. Furious, Jody violently attacks Debby who has to be rescued by Duke, who then directs the special needs gang member, Stitch, to ******* Jody as punishment. Duke and Debby stand over Jody and Stitch and watch the punishment unfold, which Debby seems to derive some enjoyment from. The scene ends with a humiliated Jody threatening to ******* Debby if she touches her man.

Next it's Shorty's turn to ******* himself on Jody, while Duke grabs Debby by the arm to take her to his bedroom to ******* her again. Completely unlike their first encounter however, Duke treats Debby very gently, and soon the experience outwardly gives the appearance of going from a non-consensual to consensual encounter...

The next morning, a very conflicted looking Debby wakes up, and after a period of seeming indecision, sneaks out of the bedroom while Duke is sleeping and goes and gets her shoes for an apparent escape attempt, doing her utmost not to be noticed.

She is caught however, and Debby pleas for Duke to protect her.

Duke instructs gang member Shorty to tie her up and then he, Shorty, and Coke have to go to Detroit, but instructs Stitch and Jody that Debby is otherwise not to be harmed, and that he will deal with her when they get back.

In a touching moment before he leaves, Duke visits the now tied up Debby and assures her she will be ok.

This sets the stage for a final confrontation between Debby and Jody, which begins with our heroine telling her antagonist "I didn't mean for things to happen with Duke, but they just did." An accounting of the developing situation between her and Duke that garners her zero sympathy from Jody. As innocent Debby finds herself pitted against street smart Jody in what to Jody (and perhaps Debby?) is a battle to be "Duke's woman," the movie goes towards its ending, which is both unexpected and unforgettable. I don't want to spoil it, but those interested can find it at vporn by searching for the title (WARNING! POSTS AFTER THIS ONE MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS)

I agree, one has to compartmentalize real world vs. fictional scenarios that make for fascinating discussions. I intend to do a thoughtful piece on how this film did such an incredible job illustrating the effects of "Stockholm Syndrome," and found real value in that on a multitude of levels.
It was also the 60's, they had to weave a story around something that many white woman would love "held up in a cabin with black men fucking them all weekend", violence would not be needed, only getting over inhibitions.

Please watch it though still and leave me some feedback on your thoughts about the movie, would love to hear your perspective:)
That was a real gem. Came from a time when IR was biggest taboo. You can see the many of the themes, secret desires play out in the film. I especially liked the second sexual scene with the white girl, she knew what was going on was wrong, but she gave into her desires. Ending was great too
