Bullshit. I, and many others, didn't receive one. They cutoff the income at $99k. Doesn't matter that I paid much more in taxes. (Republican argument used for this point. I don't mind though) My *******'s getting $400 dollars because of her income (which if there was justice, she should have signed over to me- but, called to complain she was expecting more and asked dear old dad for more money. *******.)
So, all taxpayers are not receiving "refunds", and those who do are 'penalized' for making more income.
My liberal philosophy says more money in your pockets directly means more in the economy immediately. It's a faux primer to consumer spending.
Conservative philosophy believes that job creators and investors should get the tax breaks because they actually fuel the economy.

That's the split. That also goes back to one of my first posts here. Government is, and always has been about the redistribution of resources. Deciding who gets what (land, taxes, services, licenses, protection, rights, etc). Some government are more restrictive than others but that's what government does.

I won't get the $1,200. And I won't take the forgivable PPP loan. I have no issue with those that qualify taking back their tax dollars, and in the cases of those that don't pay tax, I get that also. The PPP is not thought out by either party, and some are going to profit from this. It's an example of why paying as little tax as possible is correct. Billions of dollars for IT, and many states can't distribute unemployment benefits equitably, so we're giving everyone $2,400 extra per month. Too much in some states, not enough in other states.
