As the OP of this thread, I'm glad. Good to see an interest in this topic. But what we see is the cosmetic surface, however; its much more interesting when one can attach a story of facts to the pictures. I did that on one or two of them; it was fun researching the information.
A few years ago my cousin and I did a quick genealogy on our family name & crest; it proved very interesting ... all the way back to the late 17th century. The biggest highlight was of my family's involvement in the Civil War; we had 3 family members that fought, none came back, 2 of which were recorded killed (one in Pickett's Charge at Gettysburg and the other of sickness in a Federal concentration). The 3rd simply disappeared, never to be heard from again.
I love tracing back history that involves my own family, however.
