There really is very little little difference between the personality a street thug and that of the CEO of a fortune 500 company. The only significant difference is the thug ignores the laws of society and the CEO bends those same laws to achieve his/her goals and desires.

I'm going to weigh in on what I hope doesn't degrade into a argument thread.
I have just over 35,000 followers on tumblr and 50 million views on flickr, and a large number of those fans seem to believe that I am standing by waiting for their messages or flickrmail, and that they might be the sole person who messages me that day and I can spend an hour chatting with them. Ha! I am SWAMPED with messages.
A vast number of them are misspelled text-speak and crude. "I wan tap that bunghol make u lick my cock"
But if it comes from a black man in southern california, I will usually answer back, "Can you speak to me as a person using polite language"
Almost without fail, I get back "Oh I'm sorry, I actually didn't think I'd get a reply. Your pics are sexy and I'd love to meet you." or some such.
I've met many of these men and I've never had a single one act in any way thug, even during gangbangs at my place; which, to be honest, was my biggest concern because porn is sometimes so degrading. But nope, without fail the guys have been polite and articulate and respectful.
My conclusion? It's an act. A role. It's the Internet.
Does that make it okay? I prefer well crafted sentences when I get pinged, and for some guys they can't break out of thuggery and I cease the conversation, but mostly I like to think I've helped teach guys a better way to approach women.

Comments and likes don't mean you would meet someone.
Maybe, on here it means nothing to me. I try to be polite because even though I may not even meet someone it doesn't mean they don't know someone that we might meet.
Just putting my two cents in, being educated doesn't guarantee the person is articulate enough to hold an adult conversation. What I feel you guys are talking about is that your are looking for real conversation not just random urban banter. Anything worth having is worth the time and effort, the rest is for the ones looking for instant gratification. At least that's my take on this topic.

This is a very refreshing post. Whats interesting is that it almost seems the opposite when we, the intelligent, professional men reach out, we are not taken as serious. Maybe my perception is off, but most of the "street" guys seem to get the attention. I have interacted with a few couples (Probably the Husbands in actuality) and when they find that I am intelligent etc, and serious, the conversations end. You will then see them interacting with guys that dont seem real nor following through.

This is quite bigoted of a statement to make. You do realize it goes both ways with some classless couples who couldn't tell the difference between your and you're, or ones who will not even acknowledge you in public due to your skin color but they'll fuck you in private when it suits their needs.
To echo Orion Pax above, "Sometimes, you attract what you put out there", that is a powerful and true statement. Sometimes you should look inward for the genesis of why you feel the way you do before making blanket statements like that.
I for one speak 4 languages, hold 2 masters degrees, among other things that would place me in a different category, but I don't go around with a stamp on my head to that effect. It still doesn't exempt me from the experiences those who you refer to as "thuggish" have simply because at the end of the day even though all ******* is red, your skin color still means people like you will look at me 2 - 5 times before making a call on interaction.
Hope that opens up your mind a bit.
