Go Biden

got to say I don't agree with the ignore....isn't that censorship?...….everyone has an opinion and has the right to speak it...if we censored everyone we didn't want to hear from there would be only one side....and no discussion and after a while that would grow old......
I know another silly meme......but it fits......just my opinion....and we all have them

sorry ridgleyfan……..just disagree...….I'm just a silly "libber"
Sober moment.....catch me while it last.....I NEVER block/ignore people...pretty sure I've agreed with 2% of what you post but I admire your determination/passion. In my line of work you had better learn to acknowledge and not to respond to what you don't agree with or "like" and get on with your day or it's gonna be a miserable existence.

the problem is if someone isn't actually engaging in good faith discussion, and is merely trying to derail any actual discussion. forums are really vulnerable to bad actors, because you can simply flood page after page with reposted memes.

WIwhoeverthefuck explicitly said that was his goal -- to interrupt the "circle jerk" with his "fleshlight"

I do when they spam. And stop when they don't.
On the other side (this is a fucksite, let's not forget), it's always someone posting multiple pictures of web pics that I have to ignore because it clogs up the flow of the real people.
However, I do like a good fight and don't like to let their dumb assed rhetoric just sit there. I made that mistake on Facebook back in 2009, and the next thing I knew, people were getting mad at Obama for Sharia Law, and the Great Gun Confiscation.
@ridgelyfan Gotta beat them back to the darkside of the rock they called home for years. Let them go to Parler or wherever.
Stay and take him down with us. There was a time where those Trumptards outnumbered us on here. They now have their secret little circle jerk rooms. Let's send him there.

Yeah, that's worked pretty good for Trump & Republicans in the past ... just flood the media with repetitious BS for their precious 33% to feed off of. Keep repeating a lie long enough and people believe it well beyond the evidence showing it a lie.
Thing is, they have nothing else to give ... just lies. The lies have become so ridiculous that even some of the Trumptards are starting to see it. And believe me, if the party, itself, had another platform other than "trickle down tax cuts to the wealthy & corporations" to sell, they'd do it. Another pile of bullshit that's run its course in politics. "Trickle Down" tax cuts don't pay for themselves, and they certainly don't benefit the people who Republicans keep saying benefit from them, but they keep pushing it, and the "Tards" keep believing it. Take Trickle Down and their bs exaggerations of liberal gun rights threats, and there's NOTHING in their cupboard to feed the poor. NOTHING!

I must be confused about who or what we are talking about I guess...….will admit I don't look at a lot of posts......I come on when I have something to say....and do read that page.....then post and move on....will have to look
I thought you were talking the stupid funny meme's.....which I post more than I should.....but I think they are just funny....and saw others I thought the same of

I think if we start the censorship and doing away with others rights we are not really being better than what we are getting rid of....after all isn't that part of what he was doing censoring the press and media because they were saying things he did not want to hear or want others to know about we didn't like it when trumps was trampling on our freedoms and now we are attempting to do the same

yet there again getting rid of the trumptards brings up my topic of soon making it a one sided conversation....and will eventually die out....goes back to the censorship......I believe in just letting them rant...….take it with a bit of humor and make a responding comment...or just move down to the next post.....I sure am NOT speaking up for the trumptards….just their right to speak.....as long as they are not armed LOL

just my opinion and we all have one...either we have freedoms....for everyone....or we don't really have freedoms

Some people STILL haven't grasp the situation Trump is in, right now. He's desperate, as he should be ... grasping for straws of hope. He's got a lot more to worry about than just the election. Enough evidence has surfaced on Trump, at this point, to begin a full investigation in which they're going to crawl into every crack & crevice of Trump's miserable, FAKE LIFE. It'll eventually ALL come out as the protection to obscure his privacy melts away with the ever hounding media.
Trump's Grand Finale, I predict, will be coming soon ... now expected to hit on Biden's inauguration day, but no later.
We've seen NO PRESIDENT in history do what the alt-President is fixing to do, I predict. Melania is already planning her escape, too.
Trump is fixing to certainly go down in the history books, but not the way he'll want it.

Biden has already said he would not chase after any of that....and that what ever did come up he would not grant any pardons for either...…...but I do hope the new AG will look into some of it....especially the cover-ups

although will admit my dislike for trump was very alive and well....he just ******* on so many while stealing from the gov...and censoring the media when they reported it....but out side of that everyone deserves a fair shake....food...education...good job....decent health care

Like the Coke brothers(Koch Industries) don't own the republican party????

I saw where they regretted all that now...…..helped to create to much hate and division...…...but a little late now.....I would guess about 6 people and few talk show hosts are the ones that have really fucked the country...…..but then they could not have done it without the help of the weak minded

People like McConnell....Gingrich....Norquist....Bohner and a couple others with the help of O'Reilly ...Hannity ...Ingram...and others...all combined have this country at each others throats.....we will have to hit rock bottom before we ever get together for the good of the country.....I thought we were close now....but....

Democrats, Republicans and the New Politics of Hate

In a deeply divided nation, Democrats and Republicans don’t just disagree, they hate each other.

Divided we stand.
Americans not only disagree, according to an in-depth study of the nation's culture wars and partisanship, they have diametrically different values and perspectives on America itself, with the pluralism that once united the country now serving to divide it.

And it's not just a matter of different opinions on policy, says Robert Jones, CEO of PRRI, a nonpartisan group that studies politics, culture and religion. People have largely picked a side, and they really don't like the other one.

Several decades ago or a generation ago, partisanship was something people took to the ballot box," Jones says. "Today, it's something we bring home and take to bed. It's very personal, and it's very visceral."

Nearly half the country (48%) thinks the Republican Party has been taken over by racists, a view held by 80% of Democrats. And the Democratic Party? Nationally, 44% think it's been taken over by socialists – and 82% of Republicans share that opinion, according to the extensive study, "Fractured Nation: Widening Partisan Polarization and Key Issues in 2020 Presidential Elections."

The two major parties themselves, Jones says, have largely come to reflect the two Americas, with Republicans encompassing white Christians who feel victimized by the cultural and social changes, and Democrats, the African-Americans, Latinos and women who are driving many of those demographic and social changes.

White evangelicals flocked to the GOP after the civil rights movement took hold in the late 1960s, Jones says, and the Democratic Party became identified with the civil rights movement. That started a "sorting out" that mingles party identification with race and religion, he says.

The trend really took hold during the Reagan years, but "we're seeing it hit at an extreme level," Jones says. "The partisan polarization is driven less by the fact that people love their own party as much as that they hate the other one. They really see each other as the enemy."

More than two-thirds (69%) of Republicans believe discrimination against whites has become as big a problem as discrimination against blacks, compared to 21% of Democrats who feel that way, according to PRRI. For Republicans who cite Fox News as their primary news source, the number rises to 77%.

Asked if they agreed that "immigrants are invading the country and changing American culture," 63% of Republicans said yes, and 20% of Democrats agreed. When it comes to gender roles and the MeToo movement, Republicans felt threatened: a majority of Republicans (53%) believe men are punished "just for being men," and 65% of GOPers think society as a whole has become "too soft and feminine." Among Democrats, 23% agreed men were being punished for being male, and 26% agreed the nation was becoming "too soft and feminine."

More than half of Republicans (55%) believe it's necessary to believe in God to be a moral person, compared with 35% of Democrats who think that way.

When it comes to issues, Americans aren't just divided over how to handle them. They can't even agree on what the issues are, according to the PRRI study.

Of a dozen issues, only two
health care (65%) and terrorism (54%) – were listed as important by a majority of Americans. There is no overlap, either, among the top three issues listed by Republicans and Democrats.

Democrats, asked to name the most critical issues facing the nation, most commonly mentioned health care (77%), climate change (72%) and foreign interference in presidential elections (63%). Republicans listed terrorism (63%), immigration (60%) and crime (50%) as the most critical issues.

Jobs and employment – often considered a bellwether for an incumbent's re-election chances – are rated as less important to Americans, with just 45% overall identifying it as a critical issue. Republicans have considered the strong national economy and low unemployment rate a huge plus, while Democrats have argued that the economic benefits have helped mostly the wealthy and corporations.

And when it comes to Trump, the battle lines are drawn largely according to party, the PRRI survey says. About half – 51% – of the country now supports impeachment removal from office, compared to 47% who felt that way in PRRI's survey before the House's impeachment inquiry was announced and the Ukraine story took hold. But that 4-point increase, which Jones says is significant, given that it happened in a month's time, is almost entirely because of growing Democratic support for impeachment: 93% of GOPers are opposed to impeachment (compared to 94% in mid-September), while 88% of Democrats now support impeachment, up from 78% in mid-September, Jones says.

Trump suffers from low approval ratings in the PRRI study – 64% of American have an unfavorable view of the president, compared to 35% who have a positive opinion of him, his lowest net favorability rating in office. But there, too, there is a partisan divide: 82% of Republicans approve of Trump, compared to a paltry 6% of Democrats. (The president's job approval did tick up among Americans generally from 39% in mid-September to 43% in mid-October.)

Buttressing Trump's own campaign barb – that he could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue in New York and there would still be a group of core supporters who would stand by him – the PRRI survey found that 42% of Republicans who approve of his job performance said there is virtually nothing Trump could do to lose their vote.

Despite the emergence of two entrenched political and cultural camps, there does appear to be opportunity for both major parties, the PRRI survey shows. Two-thirds of Americans overall who approve of Trump's job performance say he could indeed do something to lose their votes, offering an opening for the eventual Democratic nominee.

But the survey also found some wiggle room for Trump: 37% said they will support the Democrat, no matter who it is, and 28% said they will vote for Trump, regardless of whom the Democrats nominate. But 33% of registered voters said their ballot box decision will depend on whom the Democrats select as their nominee next year.

The three leading contenders who could lure voters away from Trump are Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont (mentioned by 32%), former vice president Joe Biden (31%) and Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts (24%), according to a supplemental memo to the study, based on more recent research. That memo also had Biden ahead among Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents, with 24% support. Both Sanders and Warren have 16% support each.

Demographic changes by themselves would make for a Democratic victory, Jones says, except that the "ballot box looks like it did 10 years ago," with white Christians making up a majority of voters even though they are no longer a majority of the country. "In 2020, it's really going to matter who shows up," Jones says. And it will be two very different Americas making the decision.

sorry ridgleyfan……..just disagree...….I'm just a silly "libber"

I disagree. It sort of reminds me of when some people are talking about discrimination. “That’s discrimination!”, they will exclaim. As if ALL discrimination is illegal and/or bad. The fact of the matter is that it isn’t, and we discriminate over things every single day. With discrimination, the question is whether it’s ILLEGAL discrimination or not.

In life, we engage in all kinds of censorship as well. On that subject, I believe that the key issue is WHO is engaged in the censorship, and for WHAT reason. Meaning that, just like all discrimination is not bad, all censorship is not bad either. I believe that the worst kind of censorship is when a government attempts to silence its people.

On the other end of the censorship spectrum is when I as individual, in my capacity as a private citizen, decide that I don’t want to read, hear, or watch something that another person produces in their capacity as a private citizen. I have every right to “turn that off”, and have no obligation whatsoever to the other individual in that situation. Sure, it’s possible to have intimate knowledge of somebody’s bullshit on the internet and move on happily with one’s life . . . but it’s also quite possible to never read or see or hear their bullshit too . . . and move along in life even happier because you stopped or never put up with it in the first place.

I wrote in another post that WICPL4BBC has the right to act like a RETARDED TRUMPTARD ASSHOLE as much as he wants to in this place, and Ed gave me a thumbs down for that. But I believe it. But what I also believe is the neither I nor anybody else has to put up with it if they don’t want to. And one effective way to deal with his “assholishness” would be to just turn him off. Personally CENSOR him by putting him on ignore if that’s what you want to do.

He can spout all the ignorant hate he wants to . . . but you don’t have to read it if you don’t want . . . and that’s a perfectly legitimate stance to take in a place like this. There’s a time to fight, a time to retreat, a time to remain silent, and even a time to ignore and as a private individual to CENSOR. Each person has to make those decisions for him or herself. I do know this, because I’ve seen it many times before. When enough people do decide to turn a troll 😈 off, the troll eventually goes away. Because what they feed on is an audience that responds. When they don’t have that, it’s no fun for them anymore. And then they shrivel up and die.

I'm just saying you can not have selective censorship.....everyone has the right to say what they want....we have the choice of looking to the left at the poster and either read or move on...…..there are all kinds of people on here......some are really assholes and continue to push.....others have said they lost and are willing to move on.....and others it's just a game and like to "taunt"

when you censor or block someone you are shutting them up permanently....closing out all they have to say.....and there are times you do not want to hear what they have to say...but there might be an occasion they do say something you respond to

I just disagree with the blocking and think it is a form of censorship...and against any of that for anyone.....just my opinion...….there are those that at times have really pulled my strings....but still never censored....I enjoy proving them wrong

as for wicpl4bbc...….I don't really think he means half of what he says....just likes to stir the pot...….now there are a couple others that were wrong and know it and we have basically chased them off....essentially killing the board slowly.....and there are a couple that I would really like to bitch slap and still ranting....and as much as I disagree with and etc......I do enjoy showing them where they are wrong.....and along with that....looking up the facts to prove them wrong....is like an education for me as I learn more also

as for your discrimination comment...will agree it is rampant and not sure what the answer is.....there has been some sort of discrimination for centuries......always one group thinks they are better than another....it is not something they just picked up on...….it was taught to them by their parents and they grew up with....I think we had made some improvements...….but trump took us back 100 years......FBI called it right...the greatest threat to America is these groups that have grown under trump......hopefully after trump the feds get free reign to start arresting some...….and pursue some of these people making the death threats

when the trolls all go away....not much else to talk/disagree about...….just leaves all of us that have a like minded opinion....so what do we talk about then...How's the wife and *******?......different points of view is what makes the world go around...keeps us thinking and keeps us active

so I look at them as more of a challenge rather than a nuisance.....

For six years I've watch Congressional Republicans and then the Republican President run roughshod over American values in order to hold on to power and execute an agenda. I am 100% in favor of doing it in-kind. So when you opine that he has a right to act like an asshole, I disagree, and want to shut the assholery down. Fuck his rights. They, Republicans, go overboard in every Right.
Right to Bear Arms? They storm the private homes of people we disagree with with our guns, or go to the state capital with them, who needs a discussion when you have guns?
Freedom of Speech? They threaten people, pass on hate and put out dangerous conspiracy theories. Oh, and try to shut down actual news outlets.
Freedom of Religion? To the point of violating others individual rights, whether it's a cake for a gay wedding, health insurance covering birth control, or ignoring science during a pandemic. Unless you're Muslim. Then you don't have that freedom.
Fourth Amendment? Yeah right. Unless you're black and in your car, or home. You are not safe from unreasonable searches, and seizure or *******. And the Trumptards cheer it on. You know that kid Kyle Rittenhouse is a hero of the Right now? Got a product endorsement deal and everything. Think about that. What did a 17 year old do to earn that?
So fuck him, and any rights he think he has. That's why I thumbs downed it. I think- I can't remember but I'm on a ranting roll this morning.

And keeping it simple. As I said, just like with discrimination, all forms of censorship are not wrong. You seem to hold a view opposite to that, and I don’t agree. Quite frankly, I believe that sometimes some people need to be told to sit down 🪑 and shut the fuck up.

In fact, it’s well-established constitutional law that sometimes speech can be dangerous and therefore subject to regulation and prohibited. It’s not illegal to hate. But it is to hurt. And when the hurt crosses the line, the speech can be curtailed.

The thing is that you have to be careful because freedom of speech is guaranteed in the Constitution. Too many arrogant Americans thinks that means they can do and say whatever the hell they want. Well they can’t. Your rights end where my nose begins. Americans are always quick to assert their fucking rights, but not too quick to carry their obligations.

In any event, nothing we’re talking about here is quite that weighty. And there’s certainly no government nexus involved. Nobody here has ANY right to be heard by me or anybody else. And if I don’t want to hear their bullshit, then I or anybody else have capacity to put them on ignore . . . shut them up . . . so I don’t have to read anything they say.

That’s where Submission52 is for me. And there he shall stay.

I think- I can't remember but I'm on a ranting roll this morning.

that is the republican way......we need to stand up to it....blocking it out will not make it go away...it is just Trumpism on a larger scale and been going on for long time and gradually getting worse.....we need to keep abreast of it...and still stay together.....they get by with it because they can and we turn a blind eye to it...……..look at the Democratic turn out at the polls in the past...….it again is something we created and let flourish....we can not let them run rough shod over us like they have been doing for years...….just closing our ears to it will not make it go away......they are strong because we LET them ……...did you hear the Mayor of Atlanta last week?...…...there were thousands of eligible voters who still did not turn out last election

censorship is not the answer...….after all...look at the right to begin with...the wealthy are going to support that way of life...…..but they have to have the fools to help them stay in power....those are the ones that need the education

I get it . . . I still say people have a natural right to be stupid assholes . . . but then other people have a natural right to make sure they get dealt with 😉

If you’re talking about GOVERNMENT censorship yes . . . but private citizen to private citizen is very, very different . . . and that’s recognized in the law. Who gives a ******* if I “censor” some asshole on a sex site??? NOBODY, and nobody should LOL! Keep stuff in perspective man.
