Am I Overreacting?

Hope everyone is doing well.

I was a little taken back by this, maybe I’m overreacting but I never thought someone would say this to me. I am always up for discussion and understanding peoples perspectives but this rubbed me the wrong way.

The backstory: I replied to her tweet saying RT for RT pinned post (a way to promote other Swers).

She then dm’s me the following:



I had #QOS in my twitter bio, I removed it because I thought “omg maybe it is and I wasn’t aware” . I genuinely did research and found mixed responses to the subject. I read quite a few articles and blogs about it.

I think maybe I’m looking to be validated that I did nothing wrong. I’m so confused. Especially by the last comment about “BBC” - is a preference. Just how some white men love asians only or some men only like skinny or blondes etc.

Has anyone else been through a similar experience?

Don't worry about it . Yes on Fetlife from time to time . Like they say you can't please everybody all the time . I would suggest letting it go and moving on . That was a very interesting response you got. I'm not sure SHE has done her homework though. Just because a female identifies as a QoS, doesn't mean that she's racist. In my life, I prefer white women to date, but that doesn't mean that I exclude any other races from my social circle. I just happen to have a much stronger attraction to white women. A woman who identifies as QoS could also have a very vibrant, multi-racial social life as well. I don't think that our preferences necessarily define our inner characters. I hope that makes sense.

i am always wary of any white person who goes around giving you their anti-racist/white ally bonafides.

not to bust anyone's chops for getting hip on what passes as racist (cos in the USA - we've got a long way to go in this arena) but... it is my experience that white folks who suddenly get the religion and begin to see racism everywhere it exists are about as insufferable as former smokers.

Interesting response for sure although as a Black man thay has experienced racism this is not it to me. You are perfectly fine lady if your are comfortable with said terms after doing your own research then roll with it. I guess I can see where she may interpret these names as racist since in some hard core ir porn, the visuals that go with some of these terms used.
