LOL yea but when a lot of NYC cats get tired of all that concrete, they move out to NJ to get a taste of that quiet life lol
Izzat a thing? Never heard of true Noo Yawkuhs ever tiring of the Concrete Jungle. And it they do, there are plenty of quiet places on Long Island, and Upstate. My Dad decided to move us all out here. L.A. has almost any type of environment within an hour from each other. You can hit the beach in the morning in early spring, then hit the ski slopes that same afternoon.
Oh it's definitely a thing. Let me ask you, how long have you been gone from the East Coast? You said your dad moved you out there. Yea upstate and LI are options but upstate is not a quick run into the city and LI is expensive and also a pain to get into the city. I live in north Jersey and I can get to Manhattan or Brooklyn faster than anyone upstate or LI. Trust me bro, I got a few wives I see in Long Island. It's ALWAYS a 2 hour trip. And that's with minimal traffic. The problem with LI is that there are no shortcuts. You have 1 way in and 1 way out, and traffic is always an issue lol.

No, not necessarily retirement. It can be as simple as wanting to raise your ******* in a different environment, like your pops did with you. As for me, just because I moved away from the city doesn't mean that I don't enjoy going back. I love being in the city, whether it's my hometown of Philly or in NYC. But I also enjoy going out on my porch, chilling with a blunt and a bourbon and just taking in the peace

Dad had other motivations for transplanting us. One of these I've only learned recently. Not good.
But once we left, I've never returned. I still love the Big Apple and its unique magic. I'm just too lazy to travel.

Let me just say, I do not recall seeing anything from you asking about us brining the event to CA. If you have sent an email directly to info@splashmocha.com it has been answered and that is always the best way ask questions is to contact us directly. Making comments in the B2W threads is very easy to miss questions and comments as they get washed up in the flurry of all the other comments. It was never my intention to not respond to that question, we are very good and answering all inquiries.
As Idowives0763 so eloquently put it, we do drive two 51ft. enclosed trailers with all the Splash Mocha gear to every party. We live in TN, so going out to CA would be difficult, not to mention we would be away from our families and homes for over 30 days. Those trailers have all of our DJ equipment that rivals any rock band, an LED lighted dance floor, all the signage, 80 mattress, bases for the mattress, lounge chairs for the pool, pipe and drape so we can turn the meeting rooms into an on-premise club, all the lighting for the ballroom and playroom and this is only naming a few things that is in the trailers.
We do not show up to the event the day before and say here we are let's party. We are there at least a week early and yes we drive the trucks and trailers out ourselves. We set up everything ourselves and about 10 staff members who get there 2 days early to start the process. You see, what we do isn't simply a party its a convention and production. It takes time, effort, and planning to help make the fantasy of the party a reality.
Logistically it would be extremely time consuming for us to travel out there, not to mention costly. Also, it isn't just about having a party, we follow the laws of the state as well and CA does have some weird labor laws too. We do not break rules or laws just to have an event, we ALWAYS do it the right way, so our guests can rest assured that we aren't doing anything wrong.
I do appreciate the question and I hope this answered it fully. We are always looking for other venues, but at this time, going out West is difficult. I do challenge you to try out an event to see for yourself why Splash Mocha is so popular. I may suggest try out Houston since it is a little closer to you.

Thank you, A message like this one would have been appreciated. No, I asked my questions to Admin over on the Splash Mocha site, and I also asked one of the SM employees, an older gentleman I added to my Friends List. Yes, I received zero response. I was simply venting here on the Black to White Forum.
Just yesterday, another member over on the official Splash Mocha site said that there may be plans for expanding to Las Vegas? If true, since I've never been interested in visiting Vegas, an SM event held there would be a great excuse to finally go. And what better need for the term, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas?"
Yes, definitely. We have known Wayne and Missy for years, but Tina seems to run the show, and she is great. Cannot think of anything negative to say if we had to. Awesome takeover. When they bought Splash from a friend we knew, and they started with Splash, but came up with Splash Mocha and it has grown to so many events, far more so than the regular Splash, it just goes to show how much IR has become the norm/ interesting/ exciting.
At this time, we do not have plans for Vegas, we have the same problem getting there, plus the cost of permits just for the city/county officials to tell us we can have the party, not to mention other restrictions. We cannot go into a hotel with a casino, because the Gaming Commission will not allow it to be shut down so that limits us. We only do complete hotel takeovers where we shut down the hotel for three days. Meaning the hotel is closed for a private party. As I stated above, the cost of permitting to get the permission to have the party is astronomical and that means we would have to raise the price of attendance for all guests and most wouldn't be able to afford to attend. Remember in my previous post, we do things the right way, we are not going to go to Vegas holding our breath and praying that we don't get caught.
As for you making contact about CA previously, I have searched our email and cannot find anything where you have made contact. I've searched for your screen name on our site and cannot find you there either. Please provide me with more information so I can search our email/messages.

Thanks again for the clarifying information. I understand now. Once more, I wish I had received that kind clarification months ago over on the SPLASH MOCHA site instead of being ignored. Chalk it up to a minor snag. Bygones.
However, I am not a liar, and the implication is not appreciated, whether directly or obliquely.
