Black female power should receive more attention than it does. Much emphasis is put on black males (and rightly so) with regard to our power over white women. White females, however, also instinctively react to an aura of strength about black females, whatever their ages might be. As a principal, I observe white deference to black females among students, teachers, and parents. If a black female chooses to assert herself, many whites will fall in line.
