You're right, fantasy is one thing, reality is something else completely.i was thinking the exact same thing. But perhaps the question was about fantasies that would pop up every now and then and not about readiness to do it for real?
Somehow reminds me of the survey carried out on an American college campus in which 87% of the female college students who took part claimed to have had sexual fantasies about Black men. It popped up in a thread in one of the forums here and people would comment the percentage was high, the women would prefer Black men or wanted to be sexually exclusive with Black men. No. That was not even the question of that survey. TBH i think 87% is a rather low percentage actually because it means that the other 13% have never in their lives even had such a fantasy. Heck, when i think of my own sexual fantasies i am pretty sure i have gone through each and every ethnic you can imagine. Those include Women i know in real life, Women on TV screens, porn stars, fantasy creatioins, a.s.o. But back to the topic...
i think it can be empowering for Women who want to be shared to open up to their husbands/BFs about the subject when they know that a majority of men have a fantasy of sharing their Women even it might not be their top or most frequent one or they do not initially want to make it a reality. It means that the number of men in general fear of a wifesharing lifestyle might be (far) lower than most people would expect.
Look at the Romance Novel industry that so many women love. The 'rogue' (Pirate, Land Baron, Plantation Owner, etc) enters the heroens life and she at first fantasizes about him, but knows she'd never take him as a lover... Then, by the end of the story, they are rolling around in bed together!
Look at '50 shades of Gray' - People bemoan the story, but more women loved the books then men did - and was referred to as "Mommy Porn" by the media.
While these two examples revolve around white/white encounters, it doesn't take much to extend that to Blacks in the fantasy realm. In general, they are everything a woman wants in a man - confident, athletic, and taboo! Some buff Black guy who is on the college football team walks by and yes, the girls turn their heads, and they aren't thinking about the impending math exam!
One thing to keep in mind about polls - especially sexually orientated ones - people aren't always truthful. Ask a question: "Have you ever had sex with a Black man?" and see what the answers are.
1) Yes.
2) Yes, but I'm not going to admit it on this survey because it was only once.
3) No, but she honestly forgot about that trip to Cancun ten years ago while in college.
4) No, he wasn't a 'Black guy' he was from the Bahamas
This explains why surves will always have (+/- 5%) They know that people aren't always truthful when answering the survey. Also, keep in mind the survey itself may be flawed.
Who was sampled? Only white women between the ages of 18 and 24 who were students in Northeastern Universities? I can assure you that if the same survey was taken elsewhere, Southern Universities or those in the Central US, the results would be different.
How was the survey taken? A mail in questionnaire from Cosmo magazine? That's is already totally bogus as only the people who chose to respond and who may or may not be the intended sample size (intended for women, but men responded posing as women). Or was it a scientific survey, undertaken by a credible survey company using proven techniques?
So, remember, fantasy is one thing, reality is frequently vastly different. But I do agree. I don't know a single female soul who hasn't at least fantasized about sex with a Black guy.
