i tried to verify when I first joined this and my pics were not acceptable for some reason
Never did redo pics or submit reverify request
However I was able to add my avatar pic
I have met and communicated with some pretty cool folks on here

The whole point of having a private thread is so that what's in there isn't over here, many people on this site don't want interactions with solo white men or anyone who has a laundry list of reasons they "can't" or won't verify. Personally the verified feature of this site is a huge part of what keeps me coming back and posting. I love that I can keep as much content as I want private and directed at my intended audience.

From a legit female POV, there is only upsides to verification.

If your comment wasn't against the concept of verification, you worded it poorly.

The entire point of having a verified only thread is that it's not accessible to the people that can't or won't verify. If it wasn't closed from public view, what would be the point?

My view on privacy as it pertains to this site is that I enjoy being able to weed out the people that I don't have any interest in and keep the content I post directed at the people I want seeing it. Why would that be questionable?

Anything you post, no matter for how small of a group, is out there. You can not control it! (And what's out there stays out there forever. ) If you want privacy then keep your content on your disc and make sure you have a good firewall. Otherwise... any upload goes over some network and could potentially be intercepted. Anything on a remote server can be accessed by the members of the crews that maintain the server and the backups. No single media item that can be accessed by someone can safely be "secured" against copying, multiplication or redistribution elsewhere. If you grant access to only one other person misuse will already be possible but at least it could help identify the culprit. There's no real chance to do even that if you grant more than one person access. The verification feature may be nice but it does not prevent fraudulent behavior as "pic collectors" and the likes are also enabled to verify.

If you truly understand how privacy works on the WWW you always follow these rules:
#1. Never post anything that is not meant for a public audience!
#2. And if you deem something appropriate for posting then post it publicly!

Ya, thanks I'm not an idiot so I don't find the mansplaining helpful. Everyone with half a brain cell knows what you post on the internet is out there forever which is why I specified what I meant so that you wouldn't try to twist my meaning, yet here we are.

I post more frequently here than I do on other sites I'm active on because here I am able to filter out the onslaught of feedback from men whose comments and propositions hold zero interest. Here I can limit my audience and interactions to men I actually care to hear from.

I have no issues with having conversations with whoever, which is why I bother engaging in the general threads at all. But at the end of the day I'm here because I love black men and that's who I'm interested in connecting with and sharing pictures with, I don't care what random white dudes think of my media.
