Homemade Videos

I'm actually a videographer, so I am more than qualified to give you some tips. I would need to know what your budget is, and what you plan on shooting a video on, but here are some general tips, that work for making any kind of compelling video.

1. Use 1-3 cameras, if possible. One for close ups, one for wide shots, and another for mid level shots. This will also save you in the editing room.
2. Anticipate the most compelling moments, especially facial expressions if your subjects want to be seen. Other than that, get close ups of the sexual action.
3. Use lighting that frames the subjects and the actions and they're bodies well. Have a backlight, and a light to fill in body shadows.
4. If you are using a DSLR, use 35mm to 50mm lens with a 18-1.4 aperture. You'll have more light to work with.

That's really all I can say without knowing knowing more details.

Awesome man... Wife and I are both professional photographers, but we never ventured into the video side. We have on 4K Sony and another 1080p Sony camera, as well has Fuji DSLR’s we could use.

Great recommendations! I think my challenges are more around editing, making cuts, etc. - Wife doesn’t like a whole lot of lights as it makes it so un-natural and Just feels weird (in her words)...

Do you edit on MAC or PC?

I've had similiar situations with models who thought the same thing, until they saw the pictures I took of them. It isn't the amount of lights, but the quality of the light, and how they bounce or reflect, in regards to the situation.

As far as the cuts... its very subjective. Are you shooting it documentary style, or cinematic. Even then, there are cases where a combination of both might work. That really depends on the mood and what kind of memory you want to make of the moment. Do you want to capture the roughness and passion of the moment? Quick cuts. Or do you want it to be more sensual? Slow, smooth cuts.

By the way, blurring faces is easily done by highlighting a keyframe from the video, selecting the area, and adding the blur effect. That was another question you had.

I use a PC to edit, and I shoot on Sony as well. (A7III, A6500, A6400).

There are many products out there but we prefer adobe creative suite pro. It has all the editing and enhancing tools you would ever need for amateur movies.

I used to have people taking videos. I hated the lights and also people wandering around. Eventually got tired of my husband taking video too. I was self-conscious. In the end I just put up two videos with different angles so I could just do my thing without having someone else in the room.

Well, that works for a very personal, non-cinematic production. But for those of us who do this as a profession, lighting, setting up the right shots, and other elements make what we do memorable. Art takes work. That's why some porn looks right, and is more than just naked people in front of a camera.

The best hardware for making a good home porn is a Sony a7s with a 16-35 ultra wide lens. And a gymball like zhijun crane. Camera is specialized for low light performance so no ruining the vibe. Film in 4k so the distortion is still sharp when u crop it down in adobe premiere. For masking I prefer after effects with plugin mocha or lock down.
If u want anything to know feel free to ask :)
