Has "The Lifestyle" really caught on? Well, at least there are more and more mentions in mainstream media. Plus, those are becoming more and more specific!
Once it was a big taboo to mention even "swinging" which to many people seems almost "vanilla" these days, or any other concept that would differ from traditional monogamous relationships and marriage which have always been promoted more. Only throughout the past few decades society has been opening up more to alternative lifestyles, well, at least media have.
Those mentions include sexual lifestyles like swinging and cuckolding but also relationship models like polyamory, and terms like "cuckold lifestyle" and "throuple" (a relationship model involving three partners) have not only been mentioned but have already become well-known terms for the general public.
Apart from the existing diversity in lifestyle choices p0rn, which was previously viewed more or less restricted to the stereotypical ole male pervert as a target group and consumer, has also become more mainstream with web access analysis showing a far more diverse picture. It is now a well-known fact that p0rn is being consumed by (almost) as many Women as men and those include people of all ages and economic backgrounds. As a result p0rn productions, companies and their products, movies and scenes are also discussed in mainstream media just like any other Hollywood cinema or TV movie.
With the advent of "web 2.0" / online social networks (like OnlyFans) it has also become easier to connect with like-minded people. These platforms include different (sexual) lifestyles and/or p0rn as their themes and there is an ever increasing number of "amateurs" (people not contracted with a model agancy and not signed with a p0rn production company) who do their own p0rnographic work to share with others sometimes for money, sometimes even for free. This way more "sophisticated" or specific themes and "kinks" are becoming more visible and more openly discussed.
The knowledge and usage of the "QoS" as a symbol of a rather specialized lifestyle or interest, for instance, was once restricted to a very small group of people "in the know", and has now become mentioned more frequently in mainstream media as well, and thus reaches a far greater group of people today. And even the "BNWO", a tag used for a "more specific and sometimes extreme" fantasy involving the idea of Black male sexual superiority and white male sexual inferiority, is not off-limits to be mentioned in mainstream anymore.
Now here are two links to recent media mentions (2023) with lists rating (amateur) p0rn within the field mentioned above. Both have both "QoS" and "BNWO" in their titles! LA Weekly about OnlyFans: "
OnlyFans has become a cultural phenomenon, providing individuals with a platform to express their sexuality, explore fetishes, and connect with like-minded individuals." - What a positive prospect!
But now enjoy the QoS/BNWO "Top 10" rankings...
