I can’t say if I’m still new here as it’s been two years. I still feel new to the lifestyle. But… in the very beginning, I did verify the first night I signed up. That was a good start.
But the first guy I started to talk to about meeting asked me to connect on Kik. I was like, on what? Many of us “older” chicks (well, mid 40’s - wait, slightly past that lol!) probably don’t even know what Kik is. And we don’t want to give our real number out for FaceTime or Snapchat since Kik took away the video option.
But the guy let me know about Kik- and I downloaded it straight away. Chatted a bit and he could tell I was real and didn’t even need a pic or video verification to meet me (and then a few more times!).
The next guy taught me to get a Google voice number and download Google Hangouts to chat on video. I didn’t even think about that myself. A new Google email and phone number for privacy.
My main squeeze taught me about the app Wickr which has tighter privacy and video capabilities. Now we just text and FaceTime though!
Someone else taught me about Signal- but I didn’t like that I accidentally hit yes to “pull your contacts in,” and I couldn’t undo it even after deleting the account and starting over.
Anyway- point being, guys might need to politely walk a woman through getting on some of these apps… BUT then keep up the fun conversation just a bit while she figures it out. And if she doesn’t … and quickly … then I would say move on.
But a little help is appreciated if you’re new and nervous. Again… once I was told each thing to try in turn, it was completed that day. I guess that’s how you know the real ones…
