My wife used to work closely with a black guy at the casino and after I brought up IR cuckolding she admitted she sort of had a thing for him. She said he was good looking, tall and a flirt. She said he would have been "perfect."

This would make an interesting study, but you'd probably have to broaden the topic to all interracial couplings to do a real anthropological study.
I'd guess that you find more miscegenation from white women who come from more urban/diverse areas rather than rural or white mono-cultures. Pop culture, TV, and the internet certainly expose people to more black men, so that helps increase curiosity, but my guess is that being around and interacting with men of other races is more influential than just seeing them on a screen.
Good question why she did not let her "thing" for him go any further. All of this IR cuckold stuff came up after my wife worked with this guy so even though she found herself attracted to him she somehow remained faithful to me. I say somehow because my wife told me he sometimes walked her to her car in the parking garage after getting off work late at night for safety reasons and sometimes they'd linger and talk for a bit and she admitted she sometimes wished he would make a pass at her. I asked her what she meant by "making a pass at her" and my wife said she sometimes imagined him gently grabbing her by the face and giving her a passionate kiss. My wife obviously had some intense feelings about this guy so had he kissed her things might have been a lot different so I guess you could say there was some luck involved in her staying faithful because I asked her if things could have gone further had he kissed her and she would only say maybe.
After this conversation we found him on Facebook but he never uses it. I did download his picture which you can see below. obviously I cropped out his face. He's a tall muscular guy so I see why my wife was attracted to him. Also there is a picture of my wife to show you we are a real couple.

I live in a very rural part of Oklahoma and it’s still frowned upon to have interracial relations
My wife has, in her own words, never really been attracted to white men sexually. She can recognise when one looks handsome objectively but never gotten wet for one she says. She’s mostly attracted to Black or Asian and sometimes Hispanic men with a darker tan/ more indigenous features.
