I was up in the loft having a rummage in my private stuff when I came across a stash of contact magazines along with some of the letters received in response to the adverts I had placed.

This took me back to the days before websites like Swinging Heaven had primacy, when if you wanted to hook up with like minded freaks you had to go through the rigmarole of using contact magazines.

You would have to complete your advert on a form, send it off in the post and then wait for the magazine to be published. Who else remembers going through loads and loads of photos as you never got them returned.

It would take a matter of weeks to arrange anything and it's a wonder that anyone got to have some fun but I did manage to get down and dirty with F18 (Rendezvous) and M062 (Desire Contacts) although it seems that I missed out on the party of all parties with M055!

I remember those days and yes you’re correct it took a long time to coordinate a first meeting.

When my hubby placed the ad for me I remember it saying the following “Married white female looking for casual hook ups possible weekend getaways. Blackmen only need apply.”

Well I only date blackmen so that cut the number down because some people just didn’t read the advertisement.

Adds were a very good way to make connection. I think because you had to give a valid address or phone # for contact. Not sure they are as popular or even still exist

Those i posted were from the late 80's ConneXion and unreal people were both very good choices for contacts. In regard to this forum there were not many blacks looking nor were there many couples who stated they were looking for blacks. Most of the publications were the same. Having had previous adds i knew the responses from single men would include numbers of black men. If i had to make a guess i would say about 25% . All most all asking in the first contact if they would be welcome or considered.
The first ones look like they may be from select the format is the same . had adds in that publication as well before the others came on the market. They were not as explicit but the results were constant.

Wow you brought back memories! When I started swinging back in 1989 (19yo) I met people via swingers magazine’s like Coca n Crème, The Black Rose , Southern Connection and more . You had to go to seedy adult bookstores. They even had a leader board for swingers inside the store. Met my first couple at age 19 for 11yrs ! Those were the days when interracial sex was very taboo .
