In general, or did you have some specific in mind, like infidelity?
.... In general, the integrity of our society is currently at one of its lowest points. There's little honesty, little integrity, and we want to take the fastest and easiest route in obtaining what we want, even at the expense of others. We've normalized the word to the point that it doesn't raise much eyebrow anymore, similar to President Trump's constant, daily lying. People have simply gotten use to it. Cheating is a selfish act, yet the media now plays it "up" as a new norm.
.... Regarding monogamous relationships and marriage, the media most definitely can be blamed for "cheating". You see it in the movies, conversations ... for example right here on this site. Commitment downplayed, betrayal & honesty encouraged. And, unfortunately, we get temporarily rewarded with a adrenalin rush when we start up quick, new sexual relationships. I think its more to beat the incoming normalcy of the serious ******* that starts piling up as the normal sexual relationships mature. And, its ok to cheat with someone who has a commitment to another person, but god forbid if its someone cheating with YOUR significant other.
