What happened to Jan B.?

I regret not converting my VHS tapes, that I used from vids I rented at adult video stores.

I wanted to them record them to DVDs. I did a few but had to move out of my place and had to get rid of my tape collection.

Una cosa que podría poner en marcha un archivo digital es si AVN le otorga un logro de por vida, presentado por Nina Hartly o algo así. Si ella realmente aceptara el premio, podría mostrarle a ella y a otros que hay personas que quieren todas sus cosas viejas.

If she has indeed found god after losing her husband and her ******* in the same year, its entirely possible she destroyed, or has just ignored her collection to the point where is it unusable.

Finding her VHS tapes online seems impossible, I guess they may occasionally come up in garage sales, but honestly, I'm guessing most people would just throw out grandpas old porn tapes rather than the embarrassment of selling them.

One thing that could kick start a digital archive is if AVN awards her a lifetime achievement, presented by Nina Hartly or something. If she actually showed to accept the award, it might show her and others that there are people out here who want all her old stuff.

I have about 150 Jan B movies purchased on DVD-R from her site between 2006-2013. They were all VHS transfers. You could buy VHS as an option but I do not know what year she stopped selling them completely. The tapes used for the transfers were already starting to degrade even at that time. Depending on the source tape some look as good as digital, but some them show that greenish picture tint and VHS tracking lines. The earlier web versions of these scenes I had downloaded in the early 2000s did not have these errors and actually look better quality than later dubbed tapes. The DVD-Rs I got from her were store bought and hand labeled with sharpies. I don't know if she was doing this herself or she had someone running the business for her. DVD-R uses an organic dye that degrades over time and causes read errors on the disc so I copied all the DVD's onto a NAS (8x16 TB). When one hard drive goes bad I just swap it out and rebuild the array. As long as there some hardcore collectors out there, her collection will live on.

Im not sure what retired means. Just that your not filming your adventures anymore?

Also, I bet you could release some of your stuff on Many vids. Sounds like your a lot like Jan in that your sitting on a lot of older stuff that people would love to see, and maybe even pay you for.

That has been a long time ago. I think it was called Topside? I don't recall any logo items.
