    Not a dream blade but I would like to make a k-bar knife for my ******* in law.. he was in the army. Hurt in Afghanistan while deployed. He’s a good man.

    I bought the forge. I’ve made about 7 knives. It’s just a hobby. I give them as gifts to friends and family.

    400 grit finish on the handle and 3000 grit on the blade.

    2x42 belt sander to rough shape the handle and then use strips of sand paper 150 grit to 400 grit to finish it by hand. Lots of videos to help with the finishing process. 👍

    Micarta is light and can be finished to a really nice grip. I am by no means an expert but I do enjoy knife making as a hobby.

    Still need to polish the blade.. red and black Damascus micarta handle.. my new favorite handle pattern/color..

    Thanks.. it’s a textured handle.. not really that hard to grind it.. dremel tool and sanding drums. I practiced on wood and scrap micarta first. It has a really good grip to it.
