Actually, as of the first of 2024 its around $28 trillion and "change"
And until the "powers to be" start building the economy from the ground up instead of the top down, its gonna stay that way ... rich getting richer and richer and openly cheating to do it, with the poor getting poorer off pennies on the dollar subsidies. I can't see it changing in my lifetime. Foxes guarding the hen house dollars.
