You want them petite, but visible; putting them on your butt or over your pubic bone might make a statement, but they usually aren't visible when you are out partying in clothing. If you go with tattoos, I'd suggest you go with temp tattoos for a while to experiment their effectiveness and if you truly desire a permanent one that is expensive to remove when you move on to other "hobbies".
