Spaniards are latinos for a reason: because they speak a language which evolved from Latin. The Spanish population is white/caucasian. When you talk about the Spanish, you probably have in mind a person from Guatemala. For instance, this is the Spanish basketball team. Tourism is explained by sun, beaches and lower prizes.
The ruling class in Muslim Spain were Arabs, not Berbers, and they dominated roughly speaking the half south of the country. There were some periods under Almoravid and Almohad rule, but it actually does not matter what kind of people were the Andalusians, as the Christian conquest was followed of a process called "repoblación" (resettlement): cities and territories newly conquered by the Northern Christians were emptied and colonized, with some exceptions, like the small regions of Granada and Valencia.
I wouldn't consider Catholics more puritanical than Lutherans or Calvinists, specially if we consider that many popes had bastard sons and four of them died of syphilis.

Regarding Spain, this is a genetic map of Europe and Northern Africa. My grandma was from Seville, in the South of Spain, and was blonde. Arabs were a small ruling class in Muslim Spain (as Romans and Visigoths) and, actually, in the Ring of the Dove, Ibn Hazm states the Umayyads of al-Andalus were blonde, as they were sons of Christian sexual slaves.
Roughly speaking the North-African domination of al-Andalus started at 1086 and ended at 1230. There are little room for interpretations. The most optimistic historian about the arrival of Berber and Arab population to the Iberian peninsula is Pierre Guichard and he estimated 50,000 Arabs and 200,000 Berbers among a population of 3-4 million of Spaniards. There are Moroccans that look like the most tanned skin Spaniards, but I would say that in the Muslim world Turks, Lebaneses or Kurds look more similar. It is not a matter of skin color, but racial traits.

Giving into fantasies and History-Fiction, I think the decisive blow to Western Culture will come from within. The theory that the white race will be bred out of existence may well become fact. However simple math would indicate that it will take a long, long time. If it is accurate to assume that the black population is about twelve percent. This means that black males constitute around six percent. they would have to be hyper active to breed enough white women to totally eliminate the white race.
