Volunteer work in Africa

Does anyone know any NGO's of a good reputation for volunteer work?

I don't trust many of the projects that i could find on google, it's a bit suspicious when a organisation that i never heard of, charges €450,- for volunteer work in South-Africa.

I've tried looking on the website of OxfamNovib or the World Food Program, and only saw positions for volunteer work within my own country, so that's of no use.

So, any suggestions?

I already asked about it on a non-sexual forum, and noone answered.

So i thought perhaps someone on here know's an organisation to volunteer for.

I am not a sex addict for fuck sake, or do you think people on this website don't have jobs or go to school?

Working for an aid agency is dependent upon your skills, experience and how long you want to serve for. I worked briefly as a doctor for Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) and the UN for short stints in conflict zones.

I don't know the US scene too well but you can look at listings here as they advertise international vacancies:

Also look at individual agencies such as Save the Children, Oxfam, VSO etc.

I live in Europe, not the US.

And i already checked the Oxfam website, did'nt see any apllications for projects in Africa.
