All I ever saw when I was a Gold Member, was I paid them some money to "help support the site", they labeled me a Gold Member, for a few months. I didn't see any added benefits.
If someone else can tell us more, I'd like to know also.
Welcome to the site. There are some very good people here, along with the ever present "Jerks".
If you don't like a Member, for whatever reason, you can Block them and their posts won't appear to you.

Hello, this is a paid membership for most, but we give it for real persons, if they are very active and good participants of the site. Gold membership does open up a few additional features to members also.

Just as info, means nothing, I was born and raised in Maryland, Southern Charles County.
I left MD. in 1988.
