Yes. I noticed that too. There are photos of SA cheerleaders in short skirts but I think TV stations prefer that the girls wear shorts or leggings. So you don't see skirts and panties during big games.
Some of the outfits can still be really sexy though. The Sharks cheerleaders for example have this show where they undress and in the end reveal the Sharks letters on their bodies:
