Normalize porn addiction!!

You may have that backwards. I know what DSM 5 says but they're always making ******* up for a diagnosis. It's addiction if you watch porn regularly plain and simple. Addiction.
Then why haven't they made :poop: up about it Yet? If they're always making things up. Do you mean the therapists are making things up? That was kind of my point. They'll charge you to talk about your cats or baseball or your porn addiction. As I said, it's probably going to be billed as Depression, maybe anxiety or OCD.

Kleptomania is included in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5). It is classified as an impulse control disorder, characterized by recurrent, irresistible urges to steal items that are not needed for personal use or their monetary value.
Do you reckon that's an addiction?

First of all, people should be taught that addiction in general is natural and shouldn't be shamed. In regards to porn specifically, what has done more in recent years for the liberation and equality of black and brown people than porn addiction?? It has shown everyone in the modern world, especially Gen Z and millenials, since a very young age how desirable and great black people are. People who otherwise never would have made it out of their racist bubbles have been forcefully confronted with an undeniable reality, and it makes them cum! Women and boys. My question is, are there potentially further applications of healthy porn in the modern world, i.e. education, relationship therapy, social issues, etc. Maybe not but I am curious. It seems impossible to stop people from stumbling across it in the normal course of their lives, why not make it less clandestine and shameful, and more open and progressive?
Really bad idea. I mean, epically bad

Only if u class it as a problem, my wife knows & ive seen her take bbc 5 times now, i absolutely love hotwifes sucking & fucking bbc, but also white cock fucking black pussy, we both love black pussy too, we a 4some swap with a black couple uk

So you’ve now become addicted to and have desensitized yourself to other forms of excitement. This is exactly why you should be careful with anything that has an addictive quality to it. Your brain now releases its dopamine only when you watch IR porn. You need to break that cycle now before it controls everything and ruins your sex life.
White men's sex life is already watching black men fuck white women 😂

Computer Science, I therefore know how to search a document and find what is and isn't in a book.
Why ask this? If you disagree, Show me where this is found in the DSM & I'll admit I was wrong, simple.
How about your degree?
Since I can't be a subject matter expert in all fields of study. For this topic, I deferred to Dr. Darrel Ray who In 1978 finished a doctoral program in psychology at Peabody College of Vanderbilt University. I believe what he says about sex and porn addiction & I feel he's more than qualified to address the topic. I also share his views on Religious Trauma.

Let’s go with studies in the last 25 years not 50

It's not quite 50 years old -- His degree might be, but that speaks to experience in the field. He's actually kind of fun to listen to. Give it a go and then tell me what you think, please.

I don’t have too. I have extensive experience in addiction and addictive personality traits based on genetic marker predisposition. Believe what you like- it’s not my job to change your mind. Addiction can manifest in multiple forms from gambling to chemical to alcohol to shopping to sex. It’s science not some guys singular theory based on 50+ year old thought processes.

Of course you won't watch it. It's hard to teach anybody who already knows everything. He starts with a written test where 80% of the audience tested positive for sex addiction. He just shows the design of the experiments are flawed if 80% of the people are 'it'. After that he states, as I said, sex & porn addiction are not in the DSM5. If you disagree with the DSM, that's your issue - not mine.
As someone who worked in a research center for 21 years, I believe I have a good understanding of design of experiments and analytical testing. This is science, not some old guy's singular theory. Yes, chemists & biologists do need computer jocks.
You never did tell me what your degree is in Annie. I started my masters in Engineering but had to stop, due to my health.
WRT <multiple forms from gambling to chemical to alcohol to shopping to sex> FWIW, We probably agree on more things than we disagree.
It doesn't bother me if you don't see the situation as I do. In fact, if we all agreed on everything, What a boring place this life would be.

And now lets get back to real world...

1. Mental and Emotional Effects

Desensitization: Over time, frequent consumption can make natural sexual stimuli less stimulating, leading to difficulty feeling aroused with a real partner.

Distorted Expectations: Unrealistic body images, sexual performance expectations, and relationship dynamics can form.

Mood Disorders: Increased risk of depression, anxiety, and feelings of shame or guilt.

Compulsive Behavior: Difficulty controlling consumption, leading to a cycle of craving and temporary relief.

2.Physical Effects

Sexual Dysfunction: Problems like erectile dysfunction, delayed ejaculation, or decreased libido are common in chronic users.

Sleep Disruption: Late-night consumption can interfere with sleep quality.

Impact on Brain Reward System: Overstimulation of dopamine pathways can reduce pleasure from everyday activities.

3. Social and Relationship Effects

Isolation: Time spent on porn can replace social interactions, deepening loneliness.

Intimacy Problems: Difficulty forming or maintaining real-life emotional and sexual connections.

Relationship Strain: Partners may feel hurt, betrayed, or neglected.

4. Cognitive Effects

Reduced Focus: Excessive consumption can impair concentration and productivity.

Addiction Cycle: Porn can trigger compulsive thought patterns, cravings, and compulsive use despite negative consequences.

5. Potential Long-Term Risks

Escalation: Users may seek more extreme content over time to achieve the same arousal, which can lead to legal or moral complications.

Psychological Dependence: Difficulty experiencing sexual satisfaction without porn.

Life Interference: Can affect career, education, and social development if left unchecked.
