I believe the underlying theme is more that the women who left their husbands were unhappy in their life. Black, white, Asian etc.

I don't take from it that black men are superior lovers, I take from it these women were unhappy and found some sort of worth being with a black man.

It's definitely a fetish, and fetishes are irrational. Usually based on some kind of primal fear or desire. But they can be pretty real to the people who have them.

I think that at least some of these situations are limerence affairs. I feel like it's a combination of fetishization and limerence.

I also think they might not always be divorcing for typical reasons, those underlying reasons you mentioned.
