Depends on what you are trying to do , la is always cool And fun lots to do during the day and at night , close drive to Vegas . San Fran few hours away so you could make a nice little trip .

That's not really how LA works. It's all spread out. Hollywood or West Hollywood might be the closest thing to a concentrated party scene.
