I think the best way to tell if something feels fishy is to trust your gut. If something feel off, don't risk it. If their story seems to good to be true, it may just be. Members often create fake identities to live out their fantasies regarding their history, travels, professional successes and personal accomplishments. If details from their stories don’t add up, tell them that you misunderstood and ask them to re-tell the story to get a better sense of whether or not they’re being truthful.
If they disappear for prolonged periods of time without a reasonable explanation then they may be lying or hiding something. Too many apologies for not being available may be a warning sign. If it's a pattern of being highly responsive one day/week and then missing in action a few days/weeks later, call them out. Ask them if there's something they’re not telling you. But also keep in mind that members have busy lives and families.

Yea that's a good point. We often wonder if people think we are flaky because we disappear at times, then jump back online to something like Kik. But the truth is that our businesses are crazy and demand so much of us, that often times a few weeks can go by that only feels like a few days when it comes to checking messages on here.
I have to say... that if I get a PM with "great compliments and "talk", they will either be, NOT verified, 2-3 (or more) states/countries away (and of course cant travel), or just out and out fakes (outted a few i.e. sexy4blacks). But, Obviously you are not on this site to actually MEET anyone, anyone SERIOUS about meeting others in person will "bother" to get verified. This is something that only makes this site better, when "Real" people are communicating. And not EVERYONE has to "want to hookup" as a "real" person, that is always the choice of those involved...
That said, a Verified person can still be "played" by someone who is also verified as well as those who are not... and by the same token, someone NOT verified may be "more Real" (follow through with a meet) than a Real/verified member...
There isnt any perfect way of approaching this, on this site or any others... but I believe the process of verifying by photo, is a positive step that people who really want to meet others in Person, or who care about what this site CAN be and offer, can do for themselves and others, and should have no issue with doing. If they are real...
