Sir Alexander Chapman Ferguson is one of the former Scottish footballers and coaches. For 27 years (1986-2013), he helped Manchester United to become the greatest football club in England's glorious history with 20 league titles. On June 12, 1999, Ferguson was awarded the Knight of the Order of the Queen for his contribution to football.
Ferguson previously managed East Stirlingshire, St Mirren, a year before winning with the Aberdeen club. He was given temporary management of the Scotland national team - for a time (due to the death of Jock Stein). In November 1986 he was appointed coach and trainer of Manchester United.
